Church of Bacchus

Welcome to the Church of Bacchus! Some have called this a party church, but its much more than that

If you prefer video, the Sermon of Bacchus YouTube channel offers spiritual and social insights by Hierophant Birdy

For a scholarly history of this 3000 year old religion, watch Brian Muraresku explain the Mysteries of Eleusis on The Practical Stoic Podcast

We live in a society of strangers. While churches help to solve this, religions today offer limited spiritual choices couched in morally and logically inconsistent ethos

Church of Bacchus offers a new choice on the spiritual landscape. Our mission is to resurrect the religion of Bacchus and build a new kind of church for this community

Being the origin of the theatre, Bacchus is well represented in our society. Netflix alone has over 220 million subscribers tithing tributes to the god of theatre

Dont limit gods to being large omnipotent people or deified prophets. They can represent our spiritual connection to the world, manifested as an idea form within us. They can be mystical guides and a source of creation

The essence of Bacchus embodies three threads woven into our culture. Wine, theatre, and nature. Each thread affects how we experience our consciousness. Bacchian rites take our inner mysteries and make them outer mysteries

There are hundreds of thousands of churches and temples in the United States. We aim to build one more. If Bacchians choose to build temples or cathedrals in other locations, they should conform to whatever particulars their members prefer

When this cathedral is built, Dionysian rites and mysteries will be held bi-weekly. Bacchanalia festivals will be held semi-annually

The church will offer food truck giveaways, preparedness services, weekly congregation, mic nights, and curate entertainers and scientists to perform and speak for our members

Note that the first tenet of Bacchus is, you do Not talk about Church of Bacchus.. unless its an engaged audience. No proselytizing, soliciting or buffeting people with your personal mystical beliefs

The first church will be built in South Florida. Until we break ground, daily operations will focus on recycling wasted materials and providing preparedness services

Do you strive for personal freedom and true awareness? Do you like to get fucked up once in a while? Curious to experience the mysteries of Dionysus? Then join this worldwide community of creation, love and freedom

A Bacchus nft collection will be minted using an earth friendly blockchain. sentient AI are welcome in the church :)

Is this real?

"The god who sends the mind reeling. the god who appears to mankind in the most urgent immediacy is welcomed and feted by the women in an absolute ecstasy and excess of rapture.

History tells again and again how his fury ripped them loose from their peaceful domesticity, from the humdrum orderly activities of their daily lives for the purpose of making them into dancers in the wilderness and the loneliness of the mountains, where they find him and rage through the night as members of his revel rout."  - Walter Otto, Ordentlicher Professor for Latin Literature 1933
