This church is for supporters of art & theatre. For people who care about personal freedom and equality. A community of people who are curious about the mysteries of life and death and who believe in the Tradition of Criticism. The ancient mysteries and rites of Dionysus were attended by similar people.

Society often limits “God” to the idea of an omnipotent person or deified prophet. This ignores how gods can represent our spiritual connection to the world, manifested as an idea form within us.

This is an openly mystical pursuit. Consider this ancient tradition as a kind of portal that shows you new paths you might want to travel. There is no holy person to follow or compare yourself to.

The first and only official tenet of the church is, you do not talk about Church of Bacchus. Allow religious conversation to come up naturally. No proselytizing or buffeting people with your personal mystical beliefs.

Throughout history, theaters have served as temples of Bacchus. Our vision is a modern Theatre of Bacchus, which will both produce and host theatrical works.

01 / LAND STAMP

Land & roots

First, a place for everything to grow. Help acquire the land that can become the church grounds.

Scope, range & source

Explore approximately 8–12 gross acres in South Florida. Preliminary acquisition range: $2.1–8 million. The working allowance includes $4.2 million for land, $80,000 for investigations, $120,000 for closing and legal costs, and $100,000 contingency.

No parcel is selected or owned. Usable acreage, permitted assembly use, flood and wetland conditions, road access and utilities determine suitability. Site construction is separate.

Informed by MIAMI REALTORS’ land-market research and a near-10-acre Davie sale that included improvements. This is a planning allowance, not a valuation or purchase offer.

02 / THEATRE STAMP

Theatre of Bacchus

A home for live performance, intimate concerts and the people who make them possible.

Preliminary range: $6–11 million for a flexible 150–200-seat indoor theatre of roughly 8,000–12,000 square feet. Includes building, acoustics, sound, lighting, seating, design and contingency.

Land is counted in the land project only. Major shared site works and ongoing performances are additional. This indoor concept is a budgeting assumption; drawings will refine the design.

03 / CELLAR STAMP

Wine cellar

A carefully kept collection, an old-world atmosphere and a place in the church’s story.

Scope, range & source

Preliminary range: $175,000–350,000 for a 600–1,000-square-foot above-grade conditioned cellar fit-out. Cooling, insulation, racking, finishes, design and contingency are included.

The building shell must be funded separately or explicitly included within the theatre’s area and budget. No shell is counted twice. Wine, excavation, a restaurant or a separate tasting-room fit-out are excluded.

04 / NATURE STAMP

Nature trail & labyrinth

A quiet walk, native greenery and a winding path with room for reflection.

$300,000working budget
Scope, range & source

Preliminary range: $250,000–380,000 for a modest half-mile trail and labyrinth on suitable upland. Includes trail surface, planting, benches, design, local drainage and contingency.

Land, shared parking, major drainage, wetlands work, long boardwalks and bridges are separate. Accessible routes require site-specific design. Annual care needs continued support.

05 / COMMUNITY STAMP

The travelling table

A food truck that visits the neighbourhoods we choose each day, sharing good meals and inviting people to help sustain the church.

Preliminary total: $205,000–315,000. Working plan: $150,000 for vehicle, kitchen and startup, plus $100,000 for the first year at 100 meals a week (5,200 meals). Includes a paid part-time lead, food, packaging, commissary, insurance, fuel and maintenance; assumes 2–3 unpaid helpers. Paying those helpers adds an estimated $15,000–25,000 a year.

Unconfirmed roadside donations are budgeted at $0. Money actually received will be recorded separately and applied according to its stated purpose; it does not count twice toward this project and general church support. Future years require new support.

Equipment pricing informed by local food-truck manufacturer Concession Nation; its kitchen conversion price excludes the vehicle. Routes, food-safety permissions and operating details are still being planned.

What these numbers mean

These are September 2026 planning allowances, not appraisals, quotes, fundraising receipts or completion promises. The combined range is approximately $8.73–20.05 million. Major shared roads, parking, utilities, site drainage, financing, collection costs and future operations remain additional. Project-specific contingencies are included in the individual budgets.

Land appears once, in its own project. Cellar fit-out does not include a second building shell. We will revise these figures as the parcel, drawings and quotes develop. Concept illustrations are not architectural plans. No verified project contribution totals are published yet.

    Your gift is assigned to the agreed project. Its budget guides the work; it does not create an all-or-nothing funding lock.

    The planned stamp records a confirmed contribution once. It recognises support, with no separate price for the token.

    Project updates can connect that record to a completed milestone, preserving the original contribution date and purpose.

How the recognition and the money will work

A contribution token is recognition, not a currency, investment, ownership share, repayment promise or automatic event ticket. The design has no trading, staking, interest or required token burning. Future privileges or event packages would have their own published terms.

The contribution record will show the original amount separately from fees, refunds and the amount available to the project. For example, a $100 gift with a hypothetical $3 processing cost leaves $97 for the chosen project. That is one $100 contribution, not $197 of funding. Refunded contributions must be corrected in the same record. No actual processor fee or live payment is implied by this example.

Donations can support approved work before a whole project is fully funded, including agreed planning and acquisition costs. A designated gift is not silently moved to another project. Permitted uses, changes of plan and unneeded balances will be agreed before accepting a project gift. There is no promise of a finished building by a particular date.

A verified stamp will require a confirmed payment record and a Church-issued signature. Choosing a project or visiting a payment page is not proof of a donation. Personal details and payment references should remain private. This browser sample is unsigned and cannot be redeemed.

Principles

The Church of Bacchus holds individual autonomy as a primary good. Every person should possess the greatest possible freedom over their own body, mind, conscience, speech, associations, and peaceful conduct. We reject systems of unnecessary control and the presumption that any authority is entitled to rule another person merely because it possesses power.

We accept human fallibility as permanent. No ruler, institution, ideology, scripture, majority, expert, or tradition is beyond error. Therefore criticism must remain possible, dissent must remain protected, and institutions must be designed so that mistakes can be discovered and corrected without violence or catastrophe.

Political systems are tools rather than sacred objects. Their legitimacy depends on how well they preserve human autonomy, permit criticism, correct errors, and protect the conditions under which people can pursue flourishing lives.
